The Madness of Poe - October 30th

The Madness of Poe is a theatrical piece based off of some of the most notable works of Edgar Allen Poe, who called Philadelphia home between 1837 and 1844. Produced by The Mechanical Theatre, who embrace Philadelphia's rich and often dark history by developing theatre projects tailor-made for unique, historical settings, The Madness of Poe will invite audience members to experience Poe's works like never before. For four nights only you can marvel at this spirited retelling and enjoy an even of all things Poe.

About The Madness of Poe
In an isolated asylum, a group of inmates recounts to each other their strange stories of madness as their keeper displays them to a group of outside observers.  Each tries to prove that he is most mad and a twisted game of one-upmanship begins.  This Halloween the weird tales of Edgar Allan Poe come alive in a new and exciting piece - "The Madness of Poe." Using only text written by the Master of the Macabre, the Mechanical Theater spins a dark tale of genius and insanity that will be loved by Poe-fans and newcomers alike.  Directed by Eric Singel and starring Neena Boyle, Sean Vermeire, and Geremy Webne-Behrman.

Performances will be held at Historic Strawberry Mansion October 30th and 31st at 7:00pm.
