Did you know that, due to limited time and resources, 75% of Atlanta Legal Aid Society clients receive advice and counsel only from Atlanta Legal Aid Society lawyers?  While such self-help efforts can provide important information to many individuals in the Atlanta Metro area and Georgia who need legal assistance, not every client has the ability to follow the advice provided without further assistance.

The Enhanced Services Project is a new pro bono project at Atlanta Legal Aid Society, funded through a Legal Services Corporation Pro Bono Innovation Fund grant.  The project seeks volunteer attorneys to perform vital follow-up work with clients who have received brief advice, counsel and self-help materials from Atlanta Legal Aid attorneys, but who may need additional support or basic legal advice on a given topic to be successful.  Previous follow-up has shown that providing such follow-up legal services to clients can improve success rates by as much as 30%!

On October 22, 2015, from 12:00pm-2:00pm, the Enhanced Services Project invites you to come learn about the Project, the basic information that a volunteer lawyer would need to provide follow-up assistance, and how flexible this pro bono project can be for lawyers with busy schedules.

The training will be held in Atlanta Legal Aid Society’s new building, located at 54 Ellis Street N.E. in Atlanta!  Attendees will receive two hours of CLE credit, including one hour of professionalism credit.
