With the election Monday of Liberal Leader Justin Trudeau, Canada has a new prime minister and the United States is very much caught up in the throes of the 2016 presidential election. The political landscape is changing. The infrastructure challenges facing the northern two countries of North America are huge and the trade issue no less so. Among the items on the trade agenda of the two countries are the fate of the TPP agreement, the end of the Softwood Lumber Agreement, and threat of Canadian retaliation against U.S. exports because of U.S. labeling requirements for beef and pork (COOL).
The first panel in this event organized by the Canada-United States Law Institute will explore the value of bilateral approaches to infrastructure development as a driver of economic growth. A second panel will consider the trade issues. The confirmed speakers on the two panels are:
