Dosimetry Assessment Tools

for Inhaled Tobacco Products

Abstract Submission Deadline Extended to 2/29

Please join us for our second workshop for respiratory toxicology exploring in vitro exposure systems and dosimetry assessment tools for inhaled tobacco products. The workshop will highlight the current status of in vitro to in vivo correlations, whole tobacco smoke and E-cigarette aerosol/vapor constituents, in vitro exposure systems, dosimetry approaches, the exposure microenvironment, and promising technologies that may advance science in these areas.  Speakers from industry, government, academia, and non-profits will be presenting in addition to moderated breakout sessions to explore in vitro methods in greater detail.

Areas to be explored in the workshop include:

Tobacco Smoke and E-cigarette Aerosols
Air-Liquid Interface - In Vitro Exposure Systems
Dosimetry Approaches for Particles and Vapors
In Vitro Dosimetry Determinations
Exposure Microenvironment/Physiology of cells

Speakers Include:

About IIVS

IIVS is a non-profit organization which provides a unique resource for the advancement of non-animal testing. IIVS works collaboratively with industry and regulators to identify testing strategies that provide important toxicological data while limiting the use of animals. Like many of our Educational and Outreach programs, the funding for this workshop series relies in part  on IIVS general contributions. We encourage attendance and active participation from stakeholders and scientists within government, academia, industry, and in vitro/ex vivo model development.
