Paper Tigers is an intimate look at a year in the life of the students of Lincoln High School, an alternative school that specializes in educating traumatized youth. Set in the rural town of Walla Walla, WA, the film examines the concept of Trauma Informed Communities - a movement that shows great promise in healing youth struggling with the dark legacy of Adverse Childhood Experiences Study (ACES)

Gallatin Early Childhood Community Councila community-wide collaborative effort to promote thriving children from birth through aged eight, is  pleased to host the showing of this extraordinary film and subsequent discussions and training in our community.

First Showing:  Wednesday, November 18

  • 5:30 - 6:00:  Check-In, Networking and Snacks
  • 6:00 - 6:15:  Welcome by ECCC and Introduction to Film by Andy Maheras, Assistant Principal at Bozeman High School.  Andy taught at Lincoln High School in Walla Walla, WA, where the film was shot and produced.
  • 6:15 - 8:15:  Paper Tigers, the Film Paper Tigers is an intimate look into the lives of selected students at Lincoln High School, an alternative school that specializes in educating traumatized youth.  The film intimately examines the inspiring promise of Trauma Informed Communities.
  • 8:15 - 8:30:  Post Film Discussion Following the film will be the opportunity for viewers to share their thoughts about the film and make suggestions about how to continue the conversation about ACEs in our community.

Second Showing: Sunday, February 7, 2016

Celebrate Family Promise of Gallatin Valley's 10-year anniversary with refreshments and the showing of Paper Tigers at The Emerson on February 7.  Doors will open at 5:30 pm and screening will begin at 6:30 pm. Whether you are a parent, professional or just interested in how you can make a difference.  Please help spread the word. Additional event details to come.

Gallatin Early Childhood Community Council (ECCC) is one of several core initiatives of Greater Gallatin United Way (GGUW) located in Bozeman, Montana. It is a community-wide collaborative effort to promote thriving children from birth through age eight. Gallatin ECCC provides leadership to community partners with the goal of creating an efficient, effective and comprehensive system of early childhood services in the Greater Gallatin area to ensure that every child has a healthy and enriched beginning.  Gallatin ECCC serves as the Best Beginnings Community Coalition for southwestern Montana and is funded in part by the Montana Children's Trust Fund.
