ABOUT THE HONOREES: Interior Design

id 810

Virginia Toledo: Virginia started id 810 design group after recognizing a need in the high-end Manhattan residential market for a firm with specialized knowledge in both interior design and the construction process. Her formal training is in interior design, and she gained experience from working for a high-end residential design build firm in New York as well as from helping her father, a general contractor, on construction sites as a child. Virginia finds inspiration in old buildings and brownstones in Brooklyn, where she grew up, as well as in the colors and textures of nature. A modernist at heart, her personal style exemplifies understated modern elegance, enhanced with classically fresh décor. Virginia is a mother who loves historical fiction and entertaining in her 1920’s Craftsman style New Jersey home which, as a designer through and through, she is constantly updating.

Jessica Geller: Jessica grew up drawing houses and rearranging her bedroom furniture. It wasn’t until a social worker role allowed her to take on the project of renovating and designing a children’s hospital playroom that she decided to turn her passion for interior design full-time. Hired by Virginia to work at id 810 design group as the firm’s second employee, Jessica and Virginia quickly realized they had a shared vision for the company and the two became business partners. Jessica’s design vision is inspired by colors, from the effect they have on mood to their various applications, whether it's a tone-on-tone or high-contrast look. A mother of twin girls, Jessica enjoys spending free time perusing her Hoboken neighborhood, visiting the local Farmer’s Market and sitting down with a good New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc. She also just completed a gut renovation on her 1890’s row house.

Bennett Leifer: Raised in New York, Bennett Leifer was exposed to Fine Art, Architecture and Interior Design from a young age. He studied Art History and Business at Skidmore College, which helped him develop both an artistic eye and a thorough understanding of the business side of design. Throughout his career he has worked on projects of all sizes, scope and style and has experience working projects globally. In August of 2013, Bennett started his own company with over a decade of experience working at high-end residential interior design and architecture firms. Bennett Leifer Interiors is New York based, specializing in bespoke residences for clients all over the world. The company works to accommodate each client’s individual needs, aesthetic, lifestyle and budget creating timeless environments that are true collaborations. He was also a featured designer at the 2015 Kips Bay Decorator Showhouse

Kevin Dumais: Kevin is committed to providing distinctive yet comfortable spaces that address each client’s individual needs. Priding himself on his relationships with local tradesmen, craftsmen and artists, Kevin curates spaces that feel distinct, collected and complete. His aesthetic combines the classic lines of mid-century modern design with a fresh sensibility and subtle color palettes. His interiors layer warm textures with refined materials creating atmospheres of casual, effortless luxury. Designing homes for over a decade, Kevin believes that the success of any project is reliant on building close relationships with his clients. He crafts interiors that are rich in traditional values with an ease for the modern lifestyle.
