Examining Addiction in the United States

Course Abstract:

United States and what’s being done to help treat and prevent this epidemic. The contributing factors that lead to addiction, treatment efforts and policy changes will be explored. Research will also be highlighted on what has worked along with upcoming research to reduce the impact on society.

Course Objective:

• Individuals will be able to identify 2 biological and 2 environmental factors that may lead to addiction.
• Individuals will be able to identify 3 risk factors associated with developing addiction.
  
• Participants will be able to recall at least 2 policy changes in the last 10 years related to the epidemic of addiction.
