Workshop Overview

Introduction to processing DMV transactions in the dealership, including compliance requirements, hands-on paperwork processing instruction, how to submit items to the DMV and rules for electronic filing. Upon completion of the seminar, the clerk should have a good understanding of the requirements for DMV desk in the dealership, how to set up the desk to run smoothly and requirements to accurately submit items to the DMV.

By the end of the course you will:

  • Understand the process of registering vehicles in the dealership
  • Be familiar with the various DMV forms, including reports of sale, titles and odometer disclosure
  • Be familiar with the specific terms used in registration processing
  • Understand the fees associated with new vehicle registration transactions
  • Understand the timelines imposed by DMV
  • Know how to complete new vehicle Report of Sale
  • Know the difference between GVWR,GVW,and CGW weight rating and how to properly document them
  • Understand the basic concepts of electronic filing through BPA
