Workshop Overview

Designed for title and registration clerks with less than one year of experience, this course provides detailed instruction on processing the most common types of registration and titling transactions. 

By the end of the course you will:

• Understand DMV’s general  policies/procedures regarding vehicle registration  
• Be familiar with the forms required to process the most common types of registration and titling transactions
• Know how to complete the California Certificate of Title to transfer vehicle ownership
• Know the difference between GVWR, GVW and CGW weight ratings and how to properly document them
• Understand the information provided on the Vehicle Inquiry Report (KSR)
• Understand the fees associated with used vehicle registration transactions
• Know how to properly complete all approved BPA transactions
