Does Your Contract Put Your Business at Risk?

Contracts are an important part of a business’s day-to-day operations.  This workshop will help place legal terms in context and help you gain an understanding of common provisions and pitfalls.

The business world is full of agreements between businesses and individuals and from business to business. While oral agreements can be used, formal written contracts are the norm when engaging in business operations. Written contracts provide individuals and businesses with a legal structure stating the expectations of both parties and how situations will be resolved in the event of a disagreement. This workshop will teach you the importance of using contracts in your small business.

Presenter Valerie Barnhart is a Partner at Kelley Kronenberg, focusing her practice on business transactions and data privacy and security matters.  Valerie advises clients in all aspects of business and risk management, such as data privacy and security, including compliance with data protection and privacy laws, contractual matters, corporate governance, purchase or sale of assets, non-compete agreements, formation of business entities, subcontractor agreements, customer contracts, shareholder agreements, and operating agreements.  Valerie is a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/US) and a Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM).
