Beyond Facebook: Engage your Customers on Linked-In, Twitter, and Instagram

Market Your Small Business on Interactive Digital Networks

Small businesses today can use powerful and varied digital networks to connect with their target audience, refer traffic to their website and update information on the competition. Each of these networks has its own audience. LinkedIn is a Business to Business network, Twitter has become the “news source” digital medium and Instagram users are visually-oriented millennials.

Digital networks reach large numbers of consumers. LinkedIn has 400 million international business to business users, Twitter has 320 million users, and Instagram has shared over 300 billion photos to date!

This workshop will help you match your own audience to the appropriate networks so you can market your business successfully. A legal expert will walk you through the legal guidelines for marketing your business on these networks.

At the end of this session, you will able to:

  • Describe the best practices for utilizing LinkedIn, Twitter and Instagram
  • Identify appropriate LinkedIn, Twitter and Instagram advertising opportunities
  • Summarize Periscope, the newest social media network
  • Define legal guidelines for email marketing, trademarks, copyright protection, and infringement on others’ intellectual property.

Join us. Participate in a valuable and stimulating session.

After the workshop, schedule a free follow up discussion with a SCORE NYC Mentor to get you started.

Petia Bradshaw, MBA
Petia A. Bradshaw, is a Branding/Marketing Strategist, and Principal of The Stylista Group. She began her corporate career at boston.com where she developed effective online marketing campaigns for major clients such as Dunkin Donuts and Fleet Bank. While pursuing her MBA, she was selected by the William Jefferson Clinton Foundation Small Business Initiative to be a student participant on a team of seasoned consultants from Booz Allen. Petia went on to work for major apparel brand Ralph Lauren where she successfully steered the transition of their off-price product line management from the United States to Asia.

As Principal of The Stylista Group, Petia and her team have developed and implemented digital marketing plans that have produced outstanding measurable results. As a member of industry leader Constant Contact™s Authorized Local Expert team, she delivers best practice presentations on digital marketing in the NY Metro Area.

Shahrina Ankhi-Krol, JD
Shahrina Ankhi-Krol began her legal career over a decade ago. Her passion and dedication to the field of law have earned her the opportunity to work in various legal settings. Prior to starting her own law practice, she interned for a Judge in the New York State Supreme Court, worked at the Office of the Attorney General of Michigan, and in various law firms.

She started Ankhi-Krol Law (www.ankhikrollaw.com) with the goal of providing legal representation to small business owners after noticing that small business owners are often uninformed or ill-informed of the law. As a result, they either attempt to solve their legal problems on their own or do nothing at all. Both courses of action are dangerous because “un-doing” a legal mistake – either through misfeasance or nonfeasance – costs more money and time than would have been spent if the business owners obtained legal counsel from the start.
