Everyday, food and farm policies impact what our farmers grow and raise, how our farmers grow, raise, process, and distribute our food, where we buy our food, and what we eat. On Thursday, January 26th, 2016 the West Virginia Food and Farm Coalition is joining hundreds of local food and farm advocates at the West Virginia State Capitol to speak with legislators about these very issues.

Are you a farmer? A chef? A farmer’s market attendee? A teacher? A community member that supports local farmers? Would you like to sell your homemade jams and jellies at the local farmer’s market? Would you like for your children to have nutritious, locally produced school lunches? If so, join us at Local Foods Day 2016: At The Legislature to voice your concerns to state legislators.

Learn the skills to have a successful conversation with your legislator! On Thursday, January 7th, 2016 at 2 PM join us for a one-hour Advocacy Webinar to hear from experts about everything you need to know to participate in the legislative meetings. The webinar will also cover local food policy issues that the WV Food and Farm Coalition is working on during the 2016 legislative session. More information and resources will be available prior to the webinar.
