UWF Lecture: Leadership vs. Management in Times of Transformation

Please join us for our Lecture Series, "Leadership vs. Management in Times of Transformation" presented by Michael Kane. Mr. Kane is President of the Gannett East Group, and President & Publisher of the Democrat and Chronicle, Rochester, NY. Presentation 7pm-8pm, Dessert Reception with speaker 8pm-9pm.

The publishing industry has been transforming mightily amid digital disruption, changing consumer
behaviors, a recession, and in the case of Gannett, a company split. Especially for an industry with deep legacy roots, these times demand that the differences between leadership and management accentuate to form a culture embracing new paths for redefined vision, urgent change, repositioned brands, people, and achievement -- without abandoning bedrock core values. Gannett’s East Group President, Michael G. Kane, will speak to his observations about leadership over a 33-year media career and how his company is
adapting to a new world order in media publishing.
