Presenting on: "Pony Tales: Magical Moments in the Pasture with the Dual Diagnosis Client"

Course Abstract:

Dr. Miller will present various case examples of the trauma-focused work she and her Equine Team do with their equine partners in the pasture. She will give a brief overview of Equine Assisted Psychotherapy, EMDR, and how these modalities work to quickly and effectively address what is at the core of addiction and dual diagnosis.

Course Objectives:

• Understand how Equine Assisted Psychotherapy, as an adjunct to addiction treatment, could enhance treatment for clients with dual-diagnosis.
• Understand how Equine Focused EMDR, as an adjunct to addiction treatment, could help to reduce, relieve, and resolve triggers that lead to relapse.
• Real life case examples offered.
