  • 4 Game Swiss style tournament using KOW version 2 rules + RC published FAQs + house rules below
  • Scoring based on 15 win, 10 draw, 5 loss, modified by margin of victory points
  • Closed Lists
  • Price is £10.00 per registrant.
  • Prizes will be awarded for the top two finishers.

COMPOSITION RULES AND ARMY LISTS
  • No unit of a given size can be included more than 3 times. So as an example, you could take up to 3 individual Drakon Riders, but no more. However, you could still take up to 3 of another unit size of Drakon Riders (Troops for example)
  • Lists are to be submitted in advance (see details above). Please ensure that any duplicate units are clearly distinguished in your list, e.g. using the custom name option on easyarmy
  • We recommend you also bring a second copy of the list with no magic artefacts to discuss with your opponent before play.
HOUSE RULES
  • Fly - The unit can move over anything (blocking terrain, enemy units, friendly units when charging, etc.), but still cannot land on top of them. The unit does not suffer hindered charges for moving over difficult terrain or obstacles, unless it ends the move within or touching them. The unit also has the Nimble special rule. While Disordered, units lose Fly. Note that this also means they lose Nimble too, unless they have it regardless of Fly (such as Individuals).
  • Allied units may not take any artefacts. * In closed list games you do not need to disclose your magic artefacts until used or at the end of the game. Any unit upgrades selected from the army list such as spells, 2 handed weapons, throwing mastiffs, breath attack upgrades etc. still must be declared at the start of the game as normal. Note, the one exception is Fire Oil, which must be declared when rolling to damage. (This gets over the potential pitfall of a unit with fire oil attacking a hero with the medallion of life)
  • Dominate - Units with the Individual special rule that are within the central area are now only worth half their points value (rounding up to the nearest 5) when it comes to determining your score.
  • Invade - Units with the Individual special rule that are within your opponent's half of the board are now only worth half their points value (rounding up to the nearest 5) when it comes to determining your score.
  • Loot - While in possession of a loot counter, Units lose the use of both the Nimble and Fly special rules
Units Stat Changes
  • Mhorgoth the Faceless [1] - Touch of Darkness: If your army includes Mhorgoth, you may upgrade any one non-allied Shambling unit in the army (except for Heroes), imbuing it with the arcane power of the Faceless himself (+25 points). The unit thus upgraded has the Regeneration (5+) special rule.
  • Cursed Pharaoh - This unit has Defence 5 not 6
  • Ahmunite Pharaoh- This unit has Defence 5 not 6.
  • No unit can be made to have an attack value of 2+ through use of magic items (Brew of Sharpness)
MINIATURES

Players are permitted to use any number of non-Mantic miniatures in their armies. There is no minimum requirement for Mantic models. Models must be based on the appropriate base size and shape for their unit. Miniature counts must adhere to those specified in the Kings of War FAQ, available from the Mantic website. If any model is used as a "counts-as" or a proxy for another, this must be made clear to your opponent.

SCORING

Each game will be played against a random predetermined scenario from the rulebook. After a game the Tournament Points (TPs) will be assigned as per the table below, these will then be modified by the Margin of Victory.

Tournament Points (TP) Victory 15 TPs Draw 10 TPs Loss 5 TPs Concede 0 TPs (with no bonus for attrition score)

Margin of Victory

This is the difference between the total number of points the winner has left on the table, compared to the loser. This difference in totals adjusts the Tournament Points by a positive or negative amount. This means that you may score a victory, but should your army be decimated by your opponent, that victory will be a hollow one. Include any points scored for objectives in this calculation in scenarios where it is applicable.

Bonuses/Penalties

Late list submission will be penalised 1 TP per day after due date (max 3 TP). Armies meeting a 3 colour minimum paint and basing standard will gain 2 bonus TPs. Final tournament placing will be decided on TPs, with cumulative margin of victory used to in the event of a tie.
