The Robins School of Business is proud to continue the Watts Lectureship; a program established in 1974, honoring Stanley S. Watts, B’43, to bring leaders from business and government to campus to talk about the financial services industry.
Please join us as D. Scott Showalter, B’75, professor of practice at North Carolina State University, discusses issues facing the accounting profession, the role of a standard setter and the keys to a successful career.
Before joining North Carolina State University, Mr. Showalter was an audit partner with KPMG LLP, serving in numerous roles throughout his 33-year career. His previous experience also includes serving as a KPMG national instructor for 30 years and active participation in the American Accounting Association. Mr. Showalter’s success has been recognized throughout the business community, most recently as the chairman of the Federal Accounting Standards Advisory Board. In 1975, he received his B.S.B.A from University of Richmond.
