WRIPAC Winter Meeting

Hotel Reservations:

Hotel rooms are available at the nearby Hotel Miyako. This is a short walk from the meeting/training locations, and public transportation is also available. 

Reserve rooms by February 21, 2016 in order to secure the discounted room rate. If arriving by air, LAX is the nearest airport. From LAX, it is recommended that you take the LAX Fly Away. This public transit option is only $9 (compared to a $40+ taxi ride) and will take you to Union Station. From there, you can take the LADot (Dash) D and hopp off on Stop #6066 in front of City Hally on Main Street & 1st Street. From there you can cross 1st Street and hop on the Dash A and head 2-3 blocks down 1st Street to stop #6168 (1st & Central)

Pre-meeting Trainings (March 9, 2016):                  

Developing & Administering Structured Interviews 

This one-day class reviews the latest interview research and addresses the entire structured interview lifecycle, from job analysis and question development through the training of interview panel members and administration and scoring process. Through the combination of individual and small-group exercises, this highly interactive class covers structured interview theory and concepts; the use of job analytic data in developing structured interview questions; question formats; the use of rating scales and scoring criteria; candidate scheduling, panel member training content; and administration issues. This workshop will help human resources practitioners improve the validity, reliability, efficiency, and defensibility of oral boards.

Recruitment & Selection Planning

This one-day class provides a methodology for how to choose the right selection procedures and recruitment strategies for any type of job to meet the needs of an organization’s staffing model through an understanding of appropriate selection techniques, the market place, organizational staffing needs, and available resources.

Training Registration:   

Early registration (by February 21) will be $175/members, or $225/non-members
Late registration (after February 21) $200/members or $250/non-members

Dr. WRIPAC is a professional networking event that gives our members and guests an opportunity to socialize and get to know one another outside of the meeting. 


For Dr. WRIPAC in Los Angeles, we will start the evening with a self-guided tour Grammy MuseumThe GRAMMY Museum features four floors of exhibits exploring the creative process, the art and technology of the recording process, and the enduring legacy of all forms of recorded music. One-of-a-kind artifacts, films, and interactive experiences join together with exciting design, compelling interpretation, and plenty of music to create an amazing and immersive Museum experience. Some of the exhibits that will be open during Dr. WRIPAC include Legends of Mowtown: Celebrating the Supremes, George Carlin: A Place for My Stuff, Respect! Otis Redding and the Revolution of Soul, Ki Ho' Alu: Honoring the Hawaiian Slack Key Guitar Tradition, Michael Jackson, and the Grammy Music Archives.

 

Following the visit to the Grammy Museum, the group will enjoy happy hour at one of the nearby restuarants.
