February 11th- Dance classes (5pm and 6pm) are cancelled. Reading and Music are still going on.
DSANV is piloting an expansion of its after-school program options for adults and high school/middle school students. The thought behind this is not only to expand the amount of activities that our members can be exposed to, but also to give caretakers some options with regards to rush hour. We are offering a reading club, a music class, and a repeat of the dance class with Martha Krabill that was so popular in the fall.
If you have any questions, please let me know.

DSANV is attempting to organize a peer-mentor reading club where individuals with Down syndrome read a book together with the help of peer models. Participants do not have to be able to read-- they can listen while the book is being read aloud and may join in the discussion. The book title will be determined based on availibility, but it will be a lower reading level/ high-interest level book.
NOTE: While DSANV is attempting to provide peer mentors for this program, parents or care-takers should be willing to participate if the peer volunteers are not availble. The $10 fee is for materials. We will meet for approximately 45 minutes for the six-week session starting January 21st.
