Mimi Graney is now one of the Principals at Relish Managment LLC where she does consulting and management services for placemaking, food-based and creative economy initiatives. Projects including Watertown Farmers Market at Arnsenal on the Charles, the first farmers market in this Massachusetts community presented with athenahealth, and the Assembly Farmers Market presented in partnership with Federal Realty. was the founding Executive Director of Union Square Main Streets where she transformed a struggling Somerville neighborhood into a nationally recognized hub for innovation, unique food businesses and creative community events.
During her tenure the Massachusetts Bay Transit Authority (MBTA) broke ground on the long-awaited Green Line Extension which will significantly improve public transit access between Somerville and downtown Boston. With that commitment The City of Somerville enacted a revitalization plan for Union Square that promises 2.3 million square feet of new transit oriented development across seven blocks.
With municipal, state and community partners, she crafted forward-thinking yet pragmatic solutions to a broad range of community development issues from transit-oriented, small business friendly zoning to the rebirth of the Ames Complex from a vacant factory into Boston's hottest innovation center.
She's a former board member of the the Artisan’s Asylum, one of the largest maker spaces in the country. She currently serves as a member of the Massachusetts Creative Economy Council.
