PMI La Crosse - Rochester Chapter presents

What's at Stake? Integrating Stakeholder Management to Drive Project Success

January 11, 2016 - Rochester, MN

PMI Dinner Meeting

Session Description:

Does your organization perform stakeholder analysis? Do you effectively manage your project stakeholders? Many of us pursue stakeholder analysis as just another task on a project startup checklist to be marked off. But knowing who has a vested interest in your project outcomes, and more importantly, what that vested interest is, affects every aspect of your project. From schedule to scope; from communication to risk; knowing what's at stake and who cares about it may be the single most important factor for your success.

We will explore how the integration of stakeholder management throughout the other project management knowledge areas can set your team up for success.

About The Speaker:

Greg Laffey, PMP, MBA, MA, has dedicated twenty years of his life to program and project management, and nearly ten years to education, in Eastern Iowa. He is currently Program Manager in National Assessment Services at Pearson, a world leader in educational assessment. In 2015, he served as President of the PMI Eastern Iowa Chapter and is transitioning into the role of Vice President of Education in 2016. In his career, Greg has had the opportunity to employ project management in a diverse range of industries, including educational assessment, digital printing and custom software implementation, contact center services and operations and telecommunications.

In addition to being a practitioner of project management, Greg has also engaged in teaching and mentoring. He has spent nearly ten years teaching post-secondary courses at Hamilton College, Kaplan University and DeVry University online, including project management coursework, management and leadership classes. Greg celebrated the 10-year anniversary of his PMP credential in 2015 and is preparing for a Program Management Professional (PgMP) certification in 2016.

Greg received his Master of Business Administration in 1999 from the University of Iowa, a Master of Arts in Business and Technical Communication in 1994 from Iowa State University and a Bachelor of Arts in English in 1992 from the University of Iowa.
