  •  1. Introduction To Starting Your Own Fashion Business

Presenter: Jeanne Allen, Executive Director of the Fashion Incubator San Francisco at Macy's Union Square.

In this workshop Jeanne Allen will prepare you for your journey as a fashion business owner. As the head of the fashion incubator program she knows about the many struggles fashion business owners face in the beginning stages of starting their businesses, and will help you clarify your vision. Meet Eloisa Serrano, a Renaissance Graduate and local design developer situated in Alameda.  Learn what to be aware of when choosing a manufacturer, and how to conduct business when getting your sketches or samples ready for production. Eloisa will teach you how to avoid common mistakes designers make in their early stages, and tell you all about  the process of apparel pattern making, grading and manufacturing.
