Sci-finders Kits: Taking Science into the Home: St. Louis County Library staff will discuss a new pilot program featuring STEM kits that contain everything parents and kids need to engage in hands-on science activities at home.
STEAM on a Budget: This presentation will be STEM/STEAM activities on a budget with a few things about some of the stuff I have spent money for. I'll share activities we've done with things like marshmallows, gumdrops, toothpicks, aluminum foil, craft sticks. I'll share one of my favorite activities, where we built the three pigs homes and then I used my hair dryer to huff and puff and try to blow their houses down. I'll share a little about lego we do kits and Qbitz and Goobi magnetic construction.
Techno Tales: Digital Storytelling in the Library: Do you like to tell stories? Digital storytelling is a fun way to share your story, introduce or retell a new or old story. Digital storytelling enhances technology-rich project learning and makes learning relevant and meaningful to audiences. Learning becomes personal. This workshop will provide excellent free Web 2.0 tools for digital storytelling. We will focus on four sites that are available for educators to create and publish digital stories. Participants will need their laptops. For all grade/age levels.
