2016 Kickoff Symposium: Managing the “New Normal” - What Does it Mean for Your Business

China's economy is slowing down. It is transitioning from heavy industries, exports, and massive infrastructure spending to focusing more on services, domestic consumption, and technological innovations. China, according to many, is entering a new stage of economic growth, which President Xi Jinping has aptly dubbed the "new normal."

Many questions remain: Is this “new normal” a sign of maturity, or is it a major cause for concern? What does this mean for those with operations in China and those hoping to capitalize on the emerging Chinese marketplace?

On February 5th, 2016, the Greater Cincinnati Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Frost Brown Todd LLC (“FBT”) will jointly host a symposium on China's “new normal.” The symposium will take place from 12:00 - 1:30 at FBT’s Founders Conference Center on the 33rd floor of the Great American Building.  We are honored to have Joe Dehner of FBT to give his perspective on China's modern economic developments (1970s onward), setting the context for this "new normal." Jon Anderson and Alex Bryant will join us from East West Associates to share their experiences and expertise on commercial, operational and risk management in China. We will open the symposium to questions and comments from our members. Our goal is to gain insights about China's “new normal” and help our members effectively engage with China as it progresses on its new path in the coming years.
