KivaZip: 0% Interest Loans For Entrepreneurs Doing Amazing Things!

(Oakland)

A workshop introducing KivaZip, a crowdfunding online platform for entrepreneurs like you.

Kiva Zip provides access to 0% interest loans and a community passionate about helping entrepreneurs.

If you are interested in either starting or growing a small business this year, come to this workshop to learn about Kiva Zip, a local non-profit that offers small business owners 0% interest, crowdfunded loans up to $10k. Kiva Zip aims to support all entrepreneurs, especially those that struggle to access financing through banks and other more traditional finance organizations.

With over a million lenders, corporate sponsors, and local governments, KivaZip's network will help you find the resources you need to grow your business.

Over the course of this workshop you will learn about how to be successful on your crowdfunding platform and Kiva Zip's impact, connecting over 400 local entrepreneurs with capital. There are no pre-requisites for those that want to attend besides being over 18, but being serious about getting your business financed this year is helpful.

Kiva Zip accepts entrepreneurs in all stages of business, so no need for business plans, collateral, etc. If you become interested, you may be able to start the process for your campaign that day, in which case you must bring:

  •  A computer
  • High quality photo (digital) showing you and something about your business
  • Business proof, or reference we can all to verify your business exists
  • PayPal account information, or a computer to help set-up a PayPal account.

Instructor: Spencer Larkin joined the Kiva Zip team after 3.5 years working for LinkedIn in Chicago.  He is currently responsible for growing the Bay Area presence of Kiva Zip, and supporting local small businesses through the program. Originally from Northern Indiana, Spencer has spent most of his life in the Midwest and graduated from DePauw University with a dual degree in Conflict Studies & Spanish.
