Because the Buddha's teachings are considered to be priceless, and in keeping with the teachings and spirit of generosity or dana, this retreat is freely offered. Donations are welcomed.
There will be two dana baskets set out at the retreat. One basket will be for you to offer dana for the teacher and a separate basket for organizational costs incurred by Victoria IMS. The suggested donation for operational costs for this one-day event is $20 but retreatants are invited to give whatever feels comfortable according to their situation. No one will be turned away for lack of funds.
Meditation Retreat with
In this one day retreat Community Dharma Leader Margo McLoughlin will be reviewing three strands of the Noble Eightfold Path; sila (ethical living); samadhi (concentration); and pañña (wisdom). Understanding the relationship between these three permits us to integrate our practice into every aspect of our lives.
Margo McLoughlin has been practicing in the Insight tradition of Theravada Buddhism since 1986. A former staff member at Insight Meditation Society in Barre, Massachusetts and a graduate of the Harvard Divinity School, Margo has also completed her training to be a Community Dharma Leader through Spirit Rock Meditation Center in Woodacre, California.
