Have you wondered how a winning competition chef does it?  Want to know the insiders secrets to cooking and presenting a winning combination? Come join us for the Big Green Egg Culinary Center's Inaugural BBQ Boot camp. This two day event kicks off with a "Meat and Greet" social on Friday night; this is a great chance to explore and enjoy our Culinary Center, connect with other EGGheads, and get to know the Boot Camp Instructor, Matt Pittman of Meat Church BBQ. 

Matt is the CEO of Meat Church BBQ, specializing in catering, recipe development, EGG demonstrations and instruction, seasonings and apparel. He is also the award-winning Pitmaster of Meat Church BBQ Competition Cooking Team. 

Matt has appeared on the hit TV show BBQ Pitmasters and has competed at the highest level of BBQ competition at the American Royal, "the World Series of BBQ." In 2015, Matt was the EGG chef for the artists' compound at the Academy of Country Music Awards, and has participated in EGGtoberfest and demonstrates barbecue techniques at various local EGGfests ... sharing his passion for the Big Green Egg with others.

Saturday you’ll be immersed in a full day barbecue EGGstravaganza, where you'll learn the secrets to award-winning competition barbecue. We’ll start with an overview of the four major competition categories: brisket, pork ribs, pulled pork and chicken, and then we'll fire up the EGGs and fill the air with the aroma of barbecue! 

During this intensive all day Boot Camp, you'll learn the winning cooking techniques for each meat, as well tips for sauces, seasonings and the critical “competition box presentation.” Matt will offer expertise on how to best use wood smoking chips and chunks, and the flavor profiles for different smoking woods ... and you'll learn the benefits of spritzing vs. mopping, low and slow vs. hot and fast, and more!

If you are interested in the world of competition BBQ, this is the event for you! The material will be geared to the novice and barbecue enthusiast as well as the barbecue competitor looking for new tips and ways to improve. Enjoy this fun, interactive opportunity to up your game for all types of barbecue, to improve your skills and techniques on the EGG, and learn what you need to take your EGG on the competition circuit!

$275, includes Friday night Meat and Greet, plus Full Day Boot Camp on Saturday. Breakfast and barbecue lunch served on Saturday.
