Bio's for Artists workshop

A great bio is essential to generate interest in you as a person and an artist. The problem with most bio's is they often:

  • Appear dry and boring.
  • Feel self-centred, as though it’s all about what makes you great.
  • Make a hard sell.
  • Appear desperate.

 What your bio should do:

  • Put your story first and you second, yet have a strong impact.
  • Be interesting, engaging, immersive and memorable.
  • Convey your core tenets.
  • Chronicle your relevant history.

In this day workshop for artists, I’ll show you how to write your bio the right way to get your audience hooked, increasing sales and allowing you to charge what you’re really worth.

You will leave the workshop, not only with at least your draft new bio, but with the ability to write future compelling stories behind your work with confidence, and be able apply the techniques to your website, social media profiles and portfolio etc…

Who is this workshop for:

The day workshop is for artists who want to write about themselves for their website, articles, blogs, press releases, exhibitions, so they can inspire and connect with their audiences.

Thank you for organising the workshop. It was very special and remarkable since writing these things is so very hard. Yet Miles, who is not art trained, was able to unravel its mysteries in a way so many art tutors fail to do! I also want to say thanks to you for your kind words of encouragement and in pinpointing my ‘turning point’!” Carolyn Birchall
