The Bible & Prayer (Feb. 4, 2016)
We can’t make it through this life and into Heaven without the power of prayer. It’s the beginning of a relationship meant to last for an eternity. If your prayer life needs a boost, please join us for “The Bible and Prayer,” a 6-week class that explores the prayer lives of the towering figures of salvation history in both the Old and New Testaments, showing the different forms our communication with God can take. “The Bible and Prayer” also examines the ins and outs of the three types of prayer we're called to engage in: vocal prayer, meditation, and contemplation. Lectio Divina, Liturgy of the Hours, and many essential characteristics of prayer are also covered. The class culminates in a study of the prayer life of Jesus Christ, the ultimate example of how to commune with our Father. Please join us on Thursday, February 4, at 7:30 p.m. to begin this Lenten journey into the true nature of prayer and how it brings us closer to God.
