FEATURED SPEAKER: Milton Chen, “Jedi Master” of Education, and author of Education Nation will be presenting on the 6 edges in education - fostering revolutionary changes through innovative reform and the use of technology. This important presentation offers a clear vision for classrooms to enhance learning opportunities for all children.

Dr. Milton Chen is senior fellow and executive director, emeritus at The George Lucas Educational Foundation (GLEF), a non-profit foundation in the San Francisco Bay Area that utilizes its multimedia website, Edutopia.org, and documentary films to communicate a new vision for 21st Century schools. He has served as the founding director of the KQED Center for Education (PBS) in San Francisco, director of research at Sesame Workshop in New York, and as an assistant professor at the Harvard Graduate School of Education. DESIGN CHALLENGE: All students take on a design challenge while employing the principles of design thinking from Stanford University's d School. 

INNOVATION STUDIOSEach student will also participate in ONE of the following:

Jewelry studio: Make your own jewelry stamping with metal
Digital Animation Studio: Try your hand at animation and create your own slow motion movie
Tinkering Studio: Design and craft a powered car
Modern Band Studio: Rock out with drums, electric guitars and more

Childcare will be offered for children in K - 4th grades at no charge. Space is limited, so please RSVP.
