Panel Discussion: Tracking and Reporting Hours for the CFP Board - What You Need to Know
Meeting Description
Student Forum Meetings are intended for those students at UCSC-Extension who are enrolled in the Personal Financial Planning Program and for members of the Financial Planning Association (any chapter). These meetings are not open to the public.
Join us for a lively and educational panel session on a topic that is seldom discussed: Tracking and reporting hours to the CFP Board in order to meet their standard 3 year fulltime work requirement, or their relatively new 2 year apprenticeship route. Two of the panelists have earned their CFP® designations recently, and two are still in process. Also, three have followed or are following the standard 3 year, 6000 hour model, while one followed the 2 year, 4000 hour supervised apprenticeship model.
The panelists will discuss the hours that are applied to the requirement, and how they track their hours as well as how/who verified their work. They will also share their own learnings and surprises with the goal that those in attendance will be able to benefit from these learnings.
