Successfully Execute a Crowdfunding Campaign 9:00 AM - Noon 2/17 

 

Crowdfunding is an exciting and innovative option for obtaining money to launch or grow your business. During this introductory and interactive workshop we'll discuss:

* the four types of crowdfunding and determine which is best for your project, 

* popular crowdfunding platforms, and the pros and cons of each, 

* case studies, and

* tips for launching a successful crowdfunding campaign.  

Come prepared to ask questions, and share your own ideas, and business needs.  

At the end of this workshop, you will be in a better position to determine if crowdfunding is right for you, and more completely understand how to best utilize social media for best campaign results.

Presenters: Jay Lefkovitz & Annakate Tefft Ross

Jay Lefkovitz is active in the crowdfunding industry through his work with CrowdfundGuard, an independent online site that aims to promote trust in crowdfunding. To further that goal he has recently developed a certification program.

Additionally, Jay is an attorney with the law firm of Lefkovitz & Lefkovitz where he primarily practices bankruptcy law – guiding businesses and individuals during financially challenging times with an eye towards restructuring debts to better reflect current financial conditions.  Mr. Lefkovitz graduated from Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business with a Bachelor of Science, and received his Juris Doctor degree from the Nashville School of Law.   

Annakate has more than a decade of experience in public relations, social media strategy and integrated marketing. She joined McNeely Pigott & Fox in 2013 as the director of digital services at mp&f/d, the firm’s digital and social media services division. Her public relations agency career began in Chicago where she worked for M&P Food Communications, a boutique agency, and Weber Shandwick, a large global agency. After moving to Nashville, she began specializing in social media and digital communications in the startup and technology worlds at CareerBuilder.com, RunDaisy.com and JustAPinch.com.

Walk-in attendees must check the workshop calendar after 6:00 Tuesday evening before the workshop to see if the workshop is cancelled.
