York-Credit Valley Parish Leadership
Workshop
2016

Join Bishop Poole and key department heads from the Synod Office, as well as other Anglicans from around the Diocese and York-Credit Valley Area, as we discuss the tools and materials you need to effectively and confidently fill your role as a parish leader. We appreciate the challenges of parish leadership and strive to provide the organizational support and resources you require.

Please encourage your congregations to send their current and incoming leaders (churchwardens, deputy churchwardens, treasurers, parish administrators), as well as people who are thinking of stepping into those positions in the next year. We strongly recommend that Clergy register with their parish team!

Workshop topics will include

  • Area Specific Issues
  • Human Resources (screening, contracts vs. employees, hiring & firing)
  • Real Property Management (licenses/leases, inspections, rectories, “surplus")
  • Parish Finances (legal status, CRA, responsibilities and trust funds)
  • Insurance and Risk Management

Lunch and refreshments will be provided. PLEASE NOTE: Although we will pass on details of any dietary concerns, past experience suggests that we cannot cater fully to the needs of those who are gluten intolerant or on other special diets. We would respectfully suggest that you may wish to bring an appropriate alternative, though we hope that some of the refreshments may be suitable for you.

Please arrive and check in from 8:45 am for a prompt start at 9:15 am (tea and coffee will be available).

COST: $10 per person (this event is subsidized by York-Credit Valley Area Council)

REGISTRATION WILL CLOSE ON FRIDAY MARCH 25. Please do make sure that you register all those interested in attending by this date and make the most of this important opportunity!
