An unconference is a participant-driven workshop that does not have one or more aspects of a conventional conference, such as fees, sponsored presentations and top-down organization. The NJTEEA iSTEM Unconference is focused on the intersection of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math in K-12 education.
The aims of this event are to provide resources that will inspire, engage and educate children so that they may consider further study and open their eyes to careers in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math.
Unlike traditional conferences which have schedules set months in advance by the people running the conference, the NJTEEA iSTEM Unconference has an agenda that’s created by the participants at the start of the event. Instead of one person standing in front of the room talking for an hour, people are encouraged to have discussions and hands-on sessions. Sponsors don’t have their own special sessions or tables, all of the space and time are reserved for the things the people there want to talk about. We highly encourage you to schedule a topic you wish to discuss on our board and participate in as many sessions as you can.
