             Race for Rescues 2016!

Put your paws to the pavement and join the Belleville Area Humane Society's annual Race for Rescues!

We're moving to April this year, just in time for warm, spring weather. You can race on your own or with your dog. We'll be holding a timed event for both humans and canines. The top three division winners in each age group will receive a shiny medal and bragging rights! Top three overall winners will receive trophies. Participants of all ages and physical capabilities welcome--we're even having a one mile fun run and kid's fun run this year!

Every registrant will receive a t-shirt and will be timed and eligible to win races for $20. Long sleeve shirts will also be available for an extra $10.00 until April 7th. Long sleeved shirts sell out fast, so be sure to pre-order if you want one! Each registered dog will recieve a bandanna. Their fee is $5.

Age group divisions are as follows:

  • 13 and under
  • 14-19
  • 20-24
  • 25-29
  • 30-34

  • 40-44
  • 45-49

Packets may be picked up at Tribout's, just a few minutes from the shelter, on Thursday, April 14th from 11 AM to 5:30 PM or Saturday, April 16th from 9AM to 3PM. They're located at 517 South Illinois Street in Belleville. All remaining packets will be available for pick-up after 7:30 AM at Belleville West on the day of the event.

All remaining packets will be available for pick-up after 7:30 AM on Sunday at Belleville West High School.

Come out for excercise and excitement to help raise money for shelter animals! We'll be showing off some of our adoptable buddies and selling other BAHS t-shirts so come even if you can't run.
