The Stream Discovery Program is an introductory stream monitoring program for grades 5-12 that provides students with the opportunity to assess water quality in their community by monitoring macroinvertebrates and water chemistry in a local stream. Water quality data are then uploaded to National Geographic’s FieldScope mapping & data platform for comparison with student data in other IL watersheds.
Training workshops are for formal and non-formal educators who would like to implement the Stream Discovery Program with their student group. Six professional development hours are available.
Registration and payment must be completed a week in advance of the workshop. No refunds will be issued after 1 week before the workshop.
Please click one of the following locations and dates to register. Minimum registation is 6 participants for the workshop to run. There are more workshop dates to be announced. If none of these dates/locations work for you, please contact the RiverWatch coordinator for additional options.
All workshops have finished for 2016. If you would to schedule a new workshop, please contact the Stream Discovery coordinator riverwatch@lc.edu
