Slow Soup, a Slow Food Fundraiser

Join us on Thursday, March 3rd, 2016 from 6 pm to 9 pm for Slow Soup, a Slow Food WiSE Fundraiser!  Plan to sample soups from over 12 different local restaurants, hear from a few of our community's great Food Leaders and learn more about the current Slow Food Programs.  With the money we raise at this event, we are able to make a difference in our local community. Our mission is to:

  1. Connect people with good, clean and fair food.
  2. Make slow food accessible to everyone. Cooking, eating & sourcing food locally & regionally.
  3. Build community through education, storytelling, tradition sharing and events.
  4. Support biodiversity & promoting heritage breeds/ varieties.
  5. Share in the wins of Slow Food as both a national & international organization.

Thank you to these generous local businesses who will be providing soups for the event:  AmilindaBraise, La MerendaLarry's Market, Riverwest Co-opLazy Susan, Circa 1880, Bavette, Meritage, Simple Cafe, Pizza Man & Odd Duck . A full listing of soups will be posted prior to the event. There will be a variety of soups offered including a vegan and gluten-free option. We are also grateful to Martha's Pimento Cheese &  Private Palate for providing some yummy nibbles, Bryant and Stratton College for providing a group of eager volunteers and Angelic Bakehouse for the baguettes!

NEW THIS YEAR  We will hear from Peter Sandroni, owner of La Merenda & Engine Company 3, and another special Food Leader TBA, who are both supporters of the Slow Food Movement.  Also, plan to sample product from Davines.  Davines is the only sustainable hair care product company to support the Slow Food Ark of Taste!!
