MCA Summer Conference

July 19-21, 2016

Join friends and colleagues in a two and a half day learning experience as MCA holds its annual Summer Conference in the brand new Blue Water Convention Center in charming Port Huron, just across the St. Clair River from Sarnia, Ontario. We are preparing a comprehensive agenda that makes the Summer Conference our biggest professional development event of the year.

Among the topics we'll be featuring are the following:

  • Organizational Standards/Administrative Guidelines
  • FACSPro/IT Planning/Cyber Security
  • Agency Wide Budgets
  • Regional Collaboration
  • Leadership Development
  • Model Programs
  • Early Childhood Development
  • Self Sufficiency Programs
  • Senior Services
  • Agency Entrepreneurship

For a look at the draft schedule of events, please click here.

Nationally respected consulting firm Wipfli will be conducting four sessions during our conference including Agency Wide Budgets, Technology Planning, Data Security, and Uniform Guidance on Fiscal Policies. These sessions require pre-registration. Please indicate which sessions you or your associates plan to attend on the conference registrations form.

Once again we're happy to host the day-long meeting of Head Start directors on Tuesday, July 19. If you're registering for this day alone, please select the "Head Start Director/Staff" registration option. But if you plan on attending the full conference in addition to the Head Start meeting on Tuesday, please select the full conference option.

Similarly, if you're a member of MCA's 2016 Leadership Development Institute cohort, please select that registration option. The LDI sessions will take place Wednesday. Again, if you plan to stay for the entire conference, please select the full registration option.

Register by July 7 to get the best conference rate; registration fees go up $25 after that.

Hotel Information: Primary hotel accomodations will be provided by the DoubleTree by Hilton ($149/night), adjoining the convention center. Use the discount code "MIC" to get our discounted room rates.  Overflow will be the Fairfield Inn,($119-129/night) located less than five minutes away by car.
