It is expected that rostered leaders in the ELCA participate in ongoing continuing education on maintaining appropriate boundaries in ministry. This workshop will address issues church professionals must be aware of and will also cover boundaries and social media use.
All rostered leaders and lay church staff are encouraged to register and attend.
Registration cost is $20 per person.

Susan Marone, MA, LPC, AIM is an Associate to the Bishop in the SD Synod of the ELCA. She has been a Licensed Professional Counselor since 1990, served on the staff at Lutheran Social Services of SD for 8 years as a clinician and clinical supervisor, was called into Youth Ministry for 12 years at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Sioux Falls, and has served on the SD Synod Staff for 6 years. She presently works with the Candidacy process, Call process, and issues around conflict. She has many years of experience in working with boundary issues and has been trained by Barbara Keller, Ph.D., Sexual Misconduct Specialist for the ELCA.
Rev. Aaron Sumola Folkerds has been an ordained pastor for 6.5 years. He served a four-point parish in Southern Minnesota for five years and is now working part-time as a pastor at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Moorhead, MN. He is also a Liscensed Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (LAMFT) and works part-time as a needs assessment counselor at Prairie St. John's in Fargo.
