Lahey will address the research behind her book and offer insights into our achievement-based culture. She will also give parents practical examples and techniques regarding how to step back to help their child become more autonomous and independent. Author/Speaker Jessica Lahey Bio
Jessica Lahey is an educator, writer, and speaker. She has taught middle and highschool for over a decade, is a correspondent for the Atlantic and PBS Parents, commentator for Vermont Public Radio, and writes the "Parent-Teacher Conference" column for the New York Times. Her New York Times bestselling book, The Gift of Failure: How the Best Parents Learn to Let Go So Their Children Can Succeed was released by Harper Books in 2015. Jessica earned a B.A. in Comparative Literature from the University of Massachusetts and a J.D. with a concentration in juvenile and education law from the University of North Carolina School of Law. She lives in New Hampshire with her husband and two sons.
