     The Lucid Body Acting Technique

    2-Day LA Intensive

    With Katherine K. Willis

The Lucid Body is partnering with Not Man Apart physical theatre ensemble, and returning to LA!

The Lucid Body process is known internationally as one of the most practical and effective techniques for energetic character building. This intensive will focus on expanding the physical and emotional range of the actor–-by drawing attention to the alignment and personality habits, and working to stretch beyond habit. Through a rigorous yoga-based & breath-oriented warm-up, study of the 7 energy centers along the spine, and physical character & partner exercises, the Lucid Body student will experience creative self-discovery and transformation.

Founded by Fay Simpson (NYU Graduate Acting, Yale School of Drama), The Lucid Body bridges the gap between movement and acting. Using concepts of yoga, improv, modern dance, and Jungian psychology, Lucid Body is up on your feet, out of your head, invigorating yet practical work.

“[Lucid Body] I want to thank you for helping me find Patsey’s heart.”
