COURSE DESCRIPTION (0.1 CEU):

Showcasing your space in the best light can be a challenge.  Camera angle and prop selection go hand in hand to create a compelling image, but sometimes we don't know where to start!

Carl Shuman and Larry Burns will discuss how to select compositions that show your work in their best light.  We will walk through this process in an active kitchen set and explore the process of lighting and angle selection within the space.  Prop position and placement are important in conveying an image or a story to the viewer.  So we will also discuss what goes into styling a kitchen for the camera.  We will discuss how all of these elements work together to create a beautiful final image!  Get ready to see what goes into creating a camera ready kitchen!

About the Speakers:  

Larry Burns - Lancaster, PA based and nationally recognized as an award winning Interior Designer and Stylist, whose work has appeared in numerous national publications.  He launched Larry Burns Design in 1992 after working 11 years as a Senior Interior Designer at Armstrong World Industries.  Larry specializes in Private Residential, Commercial, Editorial and Advertising projects with clients all over the country.

Carl Shuman - Graduate of Rochester Institute of Technology, and owner of Owl Hill Studios in Lititz PA.  Carl specializes in Interior Photography for advertising, catalog, and promotional materials.  His work has been published in numerous books and magazines.  He spent the majority of his career, more than 25 years, working for Armstrong World Industries.  Where he was responsible for much of their photographic look.  In addition to operating Owl Hill Studios, Carl is the Director of Photography and Art Director at TC Studios.
