Sequencing and Exercise Progression of Postural Restoration® Activities

The Postural Restoration Institute® (PRI) was established to explore and explain the science of postural adaptations, asymmetrical patterns and the influence polyarticular chains of muscles and respiratory imbalance has on structure and function.

 This program is designed to help the rehabilitation, fitness and health professional have an improved understanding of the sequencing of PRI-activities in order to allow patients and clients to help restore better balance to the system.  This lab-centric program will allow participants the opportunity to work on performing activities with more in-depth information being provided as it relates to specific cueing and positional strategies.  Progression and regression techniques for different levels of integration will be reviewed and practiced as well.  While prior attendance to a Postural Restoration Institute® course is not a pre-requisite, certain concepts related to background, theory and assessment strategies will not be covered in as much detail, as more focus will be spent on the application of the activities.

10:45-12:00                 Repositioning to Intervention

12:00-1:00                   Lunch (on own)

1:00-2:00                     Sagital Positioning

2:00-3:00                     Frontal Transitioning

3:00-3:15                     Break

3:15-4:15                     Transverse into Tri-planar Integration

4:15-5:00                     Applying Secondary Principles
