Effective Networking

Networking is a social and economic business activity in which groups of like-minded businesspeople recognize, create, or act upon business opportunities. But what is effective networking? Does having 5,000+ LinkedIn contacts and knowing everyone at events and collecting dozens of business cards make someone an effective networker?

Networking is about quality, not quantity. Contacts need to be used to generate leads. Networks should lead to teaming opportunities. Networks need to help with introductions and referrals. Without those things, having thousands of contacts is irrelevant.

Join AEBL, SMPS and our panel of industry leaders as we discuss strategies behind effective networking. We will discuss how to best utilize your network, turning contacts into relationships, turning relationships into referrals, and ultimately turning referrals into strategic success. Our panelists for this event are:

  • Michelle Jones, RIM Architects
  • Samuel Fajner, TEECOM
  • Oscar Zavaleta, MGI_Montez Group, Inc.
  • Jamie Moore, DPR Construction

Immediately following this discussion, please join us for SMPS' Membership Drive and apply what you learned in a practical networking situation at Cigar Bar, 850 Montgomery Street, 5:00-8:00pm.
