Who is STOPS to Violence?

Saskatchewan Towards Offering Partnership Solutions (STOPS) to Violence is a provincial network of individuals and organizations from a broad variety of sectors including government, community, public and private sectors.  Our commonality is our desire to reduce interpersonal violence and abuse and build healthy, vibrant communities where all people are safe and valued. 

Through partnerships, STOPS encourages the use of ideas, environments and opportunities to address issues of interpersonal violence and abuse. 

Why be a member? 

As a member of STOPS to Violence, you will be part of an active provincial network.  Through this network, you will have the opportunity to:

• Build and improve relationships and networks with others across the province through information sharing, events and promotion
• Participate in events and activities to build and ‘recharge’ skills, knowledge and energy to add to your own work
• Gain specific skills and learning in topic areas as identified by members through workshops and presentations
• Increase information and knowledge about initiatives occurring across the province
• Provide input and direction into member supports and strategic initiatives
• Be part of a growing network to create change in our province!

Types of membership

Regular Member - Organizational

Any Saskatchewan based organization, agency or group whose mission and purpose supports the work of STOPS to Violence. 

Regular Member - Individual

Any individual over 18 years of age who is a resident of Saskatchewan who is not a represenative of an organization or group.

Benefits to Regular Members include:

• Invitation to participate in STOPS Member events
• Access to financial support for participation in STOPS Member events
• Access to STOPS membership directory and network contacts
• 1 vote per Individual or Organizational Membership
• Participation in governance and leadership through the Tasks Committee, working groups, strategic planning and projects.
  

Associate Member - Organizational

Any representative who has a funding relationship with STOPS to Violence and an interest in the work of the organization.

Associate Member - Individual

Any individual under 18 years of age who is a resident of Saskatchewan who is not a representative of an organization or group.

Beneifts to Associate Members include:   

• Invitation to participate in STOPS Member events
• Reduced fees for STOPS to Violence events
  
• Access to STOPS membership directory and network contacts
• Participation in governance and leadership through the Tasks Committee, working groups, strategic planning and projects.

What does it cost?

Regular Membership

• Individual - $5 per year
• Organization - $25 per year

Associate Membership - no cost

To ensure participation in STOPS to Violence is affordable to all, we consider sponsorship of membership when requested.  Please contact us at stopstoviolence@sasktel.net for more information.
