Come help support TREPAC at the Four Rivers Association of REALTORS® New Braunfels Office with a good ol' southern chili cook off!

Team set up starts at 9 AM and judging is at 3 PM

Teams can have up to 6 people and must consist of REALTORS® and/or affiliates. Each participating team member must be registered and paid prior to event. Team themes are encouraged but not required!

Entry fee is $35 per person.

FRAR TREPAC Chili Cook-Off Rules:

  1. Team spots will be first come first serve and you can choose your location by stopping by FRAR upon team registration. Electricity will not be provided by FRAR. One car for each team will be allowed to be parked at your spot. Generators are also allowed.
  2. Teams can have up to 6 people and must consist of REALTORS® and/or affiliates. Each participating team member must be registered and paid prior to event.
  3. No ingredient may be pre-cooked in any way prior to the commencement of the official cook-off.  Chili must be made from scratch: cooking beginning with raw meats, vegetables and spices. Canned beans and tomatoes are allowed provided they do not include other Chili flavorings or spices. Complete commercial chili mixes and canned chili are not permitted. Beans, pasta, rice, etc are approved ingredients for this chili competition.  Meat may be treated, pre-cut or ground.
  4. Types of chili allowed for the cook off are traditional red or green chili and may/may not include a meat. Sides such as chips, crackers, cornbread, cheese, onions, etc are optional for tasting but will not be served to judges for official tasting.
  5. Contestants are responsible for supplying all of their own cooking utensils and should be prepared to provide a fire extinguisher.
  6. Please provide a visible list of your ingredients posted within your booth. 
  7. Serving utensils, tasting cups and sampling utensils must be provided by each team.
  8. Each team will be assigned a contestant’s number upon registration and it must be on your official judging cup. Your judging cup must be at least 16 oz. Each contestant is responsible to deliver their cup, which must be filled to the bottom of the cup’s rim, to the judging area at the official time for judging. 
  9. Judging will begin at 3:00 pm. Judges will be drawn from some of the City's local dignitaries. There will be no less than three and no more than five judges. Judging will be based on a scale of 1-10 for a total of 30 points on the following criteria: Flavor & aftertaste; Texture & consistency; Appearance: Color & aroma. The Chili entries receiving the top 3 total numerical values will be considered 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners. In the case of a tie, the judges will judge those submissions again. The Decision of the judges is final. Judges will not know contestant names. Winners will be announced after the judging is complete. Teams must be present during the contest and judging.
