Luncheon: Einar Enevoldson - Perlan Project (High Altitude Glider) - March 31, 2016

Einar Enevoldson Come join us on March 31, 2016 to hear Einar Enevoldson present on the Perlan Project. He is the founder and chairman of the Perlan 2 Mission project that will try to set a new glider high altitude record.

In 2006, Einar Enevoldson and Steve Fossett set the world sailplane absolute altitude record of 50,722 feet in the original Perlan glider high over the Andes above Argentina. The Perlan 2's goal is to soar in the Stratospheric Polar Night Jet to 90,000 feet over the Patagonian Andes. Airbus is the lead sponsor of the project. Come hear Enevoldson present on the engineering design and flight challenges in flying a glider to new heights!

The luncheon starts at 11:30 AM, though the doors open at 11:15 AM. The location is Michaels at Shoreline, 2960 N Shoreline Blvd, Mountain View, CA. We expect to conclude around 1 PM.

This Aero Club event is open to members and non-members alike, however, preregistration is required. Get the Early Bird Discount of $20 per person, which includes lunch, by reserving no later than March 24.
