West District Re-Shaped Conference 

The West District Operations team is proud to offer all clergy and laity the opportunity to gather together for a day of learning, re-learning, and re-shaping ideas for effective ministries in the local church. Please plan to participate in a new style of leadership development for the West District.

The fee for attenting this event is $10 per individual or $25 for a group coming from one church. There is no limit to the number of participants per church group, so gather your leadership for this wonderful event! The registration fee includes lunch and materials. RE-SHAPING Worship                                                                           
Presenter: Jason Moore (Midnight Oil Productions)

Many in our churches have forgotten that worship is to be one that brings people to a time of praising and thanking God for the multiple blessings in our lives and His fulfillment of promises to us.  It is also an opportunity to be transformed more towards the mind of Christ.  Come learn how you can create a worship experience that allows your congregation to focus on God during worship instead of what “they want to get out of it.” See how creative imaging, story-telling, compelling music, and participation can lead to a passionate worship experience that lasts beyond Sunday morning. 

RE-SHAPING The Role of the SPRT     
Presenter: Ann Handschu (Assoc. Director – INUMC Discipleship Development)

As the relational administrative team of the church, learn how the Staff Parish team should work together so that your number one priority is to make your pastor and staff successful (equipped to fulfill the mission of making disciples).  These 2 sessions must be taken together so that there is time to review responsibilities, learn to set priorities, conduct evaluations, and build team dynamics for an   effective SPRT.

RE-SHAPING Your Story

Rev. Ben Cassiday (Pastor – Sullivan First)

Our society is driven by stories - in our books, movies, and music... Yet the most exciting story is the one we are most hesitant to tell – our own story of how our life is different as a result of accepting Christ!  This session will help us to explore, own, and share our unique, life-changing stories so that we can begin making disciples of Jesus Christ - transforming not just our churches but our world!

 RE-SHAPING Ministry Effectiveness                       

Presenter: Rev. Kevin Drane (Terre Haute United Methodist Temple)

Do you feel your ministry effective? How do we know? Who determines what metrics constitute effective ministry?  This session will help you think about the type of measurements that could or should be engaged in ministry.  It will challenge you to make sure your Mission, Vision, and Core Values are in alignment and pointing your congregation toward effective ministry. Additionally, we will discuss fruitful goal setting utilizing case studies so that we can work together to move ministry from good to GREAT!   Please look for an email after registering that will help you prepare for this session.
