Taming the Mind – Finding Freedom

Weekend Meditation Retreat

The Buddhist Center of Steamboat Springs

Friday - Sunday, April 29-May 1

Meditation helps us to discover a deep sense of wellbeing independent of the outer circumstances of our lives. When we learn to tame our minds and open our hearts through the practice of meditation, we discover the natural peace, warmth and wisdom and that is our true nature. Join us for a weekend dedicated to deepening our understanding and experience of meditation. The weekend will be guided by Tim Olmsted, the founder of The Buddhist Center.

This weekend retreat is perfectly suited and open to anyone interested in meditation, or in deepening their meditation practice, regardless of their faith or level of experience. The weekend will consist of sessions of meditation along with short instructions and tips.

Tim Olmsted has been deeply engaged in meditation training for the past 40 years, studying under many of the greatest teachers of our time. In 1994, after living for 12 years in Nepal, Tim moved to Steamboat and founded The Buddhist Center of Steamboat Springs. He has served as the director of Gampo Abbey, a Buddhist monastery located in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia. He is the founder and president of the Pema Chödrön Foundation. Tim spends much of the year traveling internationally teaching meditation.
