Training will cover basic evidentiary principles needed for competency in child welfare cases in juvenile court.  The areas covered will include a re-introduction to evidence, requirements for making a record and introducing evidence, objections practice generally, judicial notice, and aspects of hearsay.

Gerald Bruce has been a felony prosecutor as well as a parent attorney, a GAL, a DFCS SAAG, and a juvenile court judge - essentially every job an attorney can do in Georgia's juvenile courts.  He is now involved in consulting, public policy, training, and practice exclusively in the area of child welfare law and policy.

Richard Highsmith has been a parent attorney, child's attorney, and GAL, and is now a DFCS SAAG with extensive experience in juvenile court.  He is also a frequent speaker and trainer for juvenile court stakeholders.
