1:00 - 2:30 Workshop: Introduction to Managed Long Term Care and the ICAN Program
      Presenter: Muriel Miller, Health Practice Group in Empire Justice Center
This training, provided by health law staff from Empire Justice Center, provides an introduction to Managed Long Term Care (MLTC) and the ICAN Program. Topics covered include services provided with MLTC, plan types and options, choosing and enrolling in a plan, and rights and special budgeting in MLTC. The training will also provide information about how clients and advocates can get help with MLTC and other long term care issues through ICAN, and independent ombudsman program of which Empire Justice is apart.

2:45 - 3:45 Workshop: It's All About the Approach
      Presenters: Cynthia Ploutz, Assistant Professor at Hartwick College
      Carol Kiehn Kirkey, Caregiver
      Ann Thayer, Program Manager for the Alzheimer's Association 
This interactive discussion will center on improving communication and approach in everyday life with a person with dementia.

      Presenter: Kelly Morrissey, Certified Silver Sneakers Yoga Instructor
Unwind from the day, and prepare yourself for your caregiving responsibilities with a progressive relaxation, guided meditation, and stretching chair yoga routine. For all fitness levels.
